Acol at BBO - Howto ...

If you play Acol, you are welcome to join in our Tourneys.

First of all, you need to get permission to join. Try to do this at least 2 days before the date of the first Tourney that you want to join. You will need to get permission only once.

Then - you need to 'Register' for each Tourney that you want to play in.

So - how do you register?

First of all - find the Tourney :

Go to the "Play Bridge Menu"

Click on "Free Tournaments"

(If you don't see "Free Tournaments" then click on the "Tournaments" line).

Scroll down the list of Tourneys until you find the one you want to play in

.Note the little padlock to the left, that tells you that you need permission to play in this Tourney. If it is a Tourney sponsored by the Acol Club, you will need to get permission from us. If the Tourney is run by sombody else, you will need to contact them for permission.

Click on the Tourney ---

Now you are ready to register to play in the Tourney.

If the Tourney is a "Pairs"
(you will play with the same partner throughout)
you can find a partner and register your pair by clicking "Registration" (1). Or if you need to find a partner you can click 'Partnership Desk' (2).

If the Tourney is an "Indy"
(you play for yourself, automatically changing partner and opponents every couple of boards or so)
you will only need to register yourself. Everything else is automatic - so click "Registration" (1), the "Partnership Desk" button will be greyed out.

The "Registration Screen" and "Partnership Desk" have different lay-outs :

If you want to register your pair in a "Pairs" Tourney :
Enter the name of your partner in
the box and ...
Click on "Request registration"

If you want to register to play in an "Indy" Tourney :
Just click on "Request Registration"
(there is no Partner box to fill in).

If you want to register as a 'Single' in a "Pairs" Tourney :
Click on "Add your name"

OR

Click on the name of a player already in the list, then click "Send invitation".
That will send an invitation to the player to pair-up with you and, if your invitation is accepted, you will automatically be registered as a pair for the Tourney.

Were you refused permission to Register when you clicked the right buttons ? Sorry. You need to ask for permission to join our Tourneys before the first one that you play in.
