On
this page the challenging team is called the “Attack Team” and the
challenged Team is called the “Defender Team”. |
| 2 |
An
Attack Team may challenge any Defender Team within 3 places higher up
the Ladder. (eg. Team 5 can challenge Team 4, 3 or
2.) |
| 3 |
An
Attack Team may not challenge a Defender Team where those two teams
have played a match against each other within the previous 14 days (but see rule 8 below). |
| 4 |
The
challenge is sent by the Attack Team Captain to the Defender Team
Captain, by email, specifying : |
|
a |
The name of the Attack
Team; |
|
b |
The name of the Defender
Team; |
|
c |
Three proposed dates and
time (UK time) for the match, all of them being on different days
between 4 and 10 days after the day that the challenge is
made (not including the day of the challenge). |
| 5 |
The
Defender Team Captain may : |
|
a |
Reject the challenge if the Attack Team and Defender
Team have played a match against each other within the previous 14 days (but see rule 8 below). |
|
b |
Postpone the challenge if : |
|
|
The Defender Team
cannot field a team because of holidays for two or more of the proposed
dates. |
|
|
The Defender Team is
already facing a
challenge from another Attack Team which has not yet been
played (but see rule 8 below). |
|
|
In either of theses cases the Defender Team
Captain shall offer alternative dates, so as to play challenges at the
earliest date and in order that the challenges are received. |
|
The Defending Team shall not be required to play
more than one challenge in any period of 7 days (but see rule 8 below). |
| 6 |
The Defender Team
Captain shall
otherwise reply to the Captain of the Attack Team before midnight on
the 3rd following day after the message from the Laddermaster,
selecting one of the offered
dates. |
| 7 |
If the Defender
Team Captain does
not reply within the allowed 3 days the match shall be treated as won
by the Attack Team. |
| 8 | The team at the top of the ladder has no other team to challenge and so must accept a greater number of challenges.
That team shall be required to play up to two
challenges in any period of 7 days, and the requirement to wait 14 days
in rule 3 and rule 5a shall be waived. |
