| 1 | Getting the match results | |
| a) | The scorer relies on you to arrange matches and report results. This website does not yet have any interactive features which will allow automatic updating of matches or results. | |
| b) | The scorer will deal with a result as quickly as possible - usually within a few hours. But the scorer has a real life as well and there may sometimes be a delay of a couple of days - check the notices for any longer holidays or absences. | |
| 2 | What does the scorer do ? | |
| Upon receiving the match results by email, the scorer will - | ||
| a) | Cross-check the report from each pair and try to
resolve any discrepancies by email with the reporting players. (Please try to get it right first time.) |
|
| b) | Enter the date of the match in the matches played table. | |
| c) | Get all the details of the boards played from the BBO archive and check that they are valid boards - played at 12 or more tables - and that the reported result is correct. | |
| d) | If any boards have been played at less than 16 tables, the scorer will check the BBO archive after 24 hours (and again after 48 hours, if necessary) and adjust the scores where boards become more complete. | |
| e) | Update the League Table. | |
| 3 | How is the League Table updated ? | |
| a) | Each trio/pair will be allocated the net IMPs (+ or -) for the 10 board match. | |
| b) | If more than 10 boards have been played, only the first 10 valid boards will be used. | |
| c) | If there are fewer than 10 valid boards, the IMP score for the earliest required number of invalid boards will be included in the count with a penalty of 2 IMPs for each invalid board. | |
| d) | If there are fewer than 10 boards (valid or not), the match will not count. | |
| e) | For trios/pairs which have played 6 or fewer matches, all scores will count in determining the league position. | |
| f) | For trios/pairs which have played more than 6 matches, only the best 6 scores will count in determing the league position. | |
| g) | The league position will be determined by the average IMPs score (total of all, or best 6, IMP scores divided by the number of scores). | |
| h) | During the month, all trios/pairs will be included in the league table. The final table, to be published at the end of the month, will give a ranking to only those trios/pairs which have played 6 or more matches. | |
