Diana Winstanley

We are very sad to announce the passing away of Diana Winstanley, known to many of you as DWnstnly at the club. Diana was one of the founder members of the club and from the beginning she would set her table here so as to encourage others to come and play.

The success of the club is due in no small measure to Diana.

Diana was the first announcer at the club and she was also in charge of setting tables for lessons. Her idiosyncratic style was a source of great pleasure to everyone.

Some of us had the pleasure of meeting Diana, and the lunch she hosted for us in her home town of Folkestone was indeed a memorable occasion. It was then we found out how important BBO and the club was to her. It was a source of great regret to Diana that she was unable to come to our annual Coventry get togethers.

Those of us who knew Diana will miss her greatly and everyone at the club extends their sympathy to her family at this time.
